The end of the school year was different than any of us have seen in our lifetime as we surf the waves of change and uncertainty together and cheer on the senior class as they step out into the world beyond high school.
A new program you will hear about next week is our Coffee and Careers program, a collaboration between BYS, Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island and FindMino.com. This summer, high school students will be able to explore careers that are of interest to them and connect for a virtual “coffee” meeting with a local professional with experience in the field.
As our country reckons with a long, long history of systemic racism, BYS is asking ourselves what our role is to promote mental health equity. We have much to learn and will share more over the coming months. We have taken a first step, now offering free tele-health counseling to ALL youth in Kitsap County ages 13-21.
Hope is contagious, please pass it on.
